Racing News
The first quarter of 2008 has been good for IM BMX. Both Isabelle and Maggie have qualified for the Redline Cup finals by making their mains in their first Red Line Cup race this year. Both riders did very well at the ABA Corn Husker Nationals in Kearney, Nebraska again making their mains. We had some difficulty making it to Indiana for the NBL Midwest regional due to an emergency surgery just two days before leaving. We will be rescheduling to make another Midwest regional. We have started our NBL schedule by racing the Illinois State series. IM BMX would also like to thank BMX Action online for allowing our GHP Pro Cruiser in the BMX Biker Build Off. The season will be starting shortly for our local tracks, Des Moines Metro BMX and Cedar Rapids BMX. If you see us at the track stop by and say HI and look over the new GHP bikes.
IM BMX has started to help Des Moines Metro BMX to look for other sites in the state of Iowa to build new BMX tracks. We are currently looking on the west side of the Des Moines Metro in Waukee. Please stop by Waukee Cycling & Fitness and sign are petition to so we can show people the interest in the sport. If you have areas within the state please drop us an e-mail. .

We would like to welcome Marvin Light into the IM BMX Family. Marvin is the owner of Waukee Cycling & Fitness right here in the Des Moines Metro area. Please stop by and say “hi” to Marvin. Marvin has a great history in BMX in Iowa, where he started when he was 12, in Minnesota, where he won state championship at 14, and Arkansas where he won a state championship at 15. Marvin then took a break from BMX until 1996 when he became the co-owner of a bike shop in Arkansas. From 1996 to 2003 Marvin again won state and regional BMX titles. Marvin also picked up more forms of racing including Mountain Bikes and Road Bikes. He continues to race all forms bicycles today. Marvin has been a strong supporter of BMX including starting a new track in Fayetteville, Arkansas that is still in operation today. Again IM BMX welcomes Marvin and Waukee Cycling & Fitness in our BMX family and the Des Moines BMX community.
